    Terms of use

    Last updated 16 August 2026

    1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of this website. By using the website you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the website.

You must be at least 18 years old to use this website. It is intended for people acting in a business, landlord or property owning capacity.

    2. Who we are

This website is owned and operated by Traction Tactics Limited, trading as The Scottish Fire Door Company.

We are registered in England and Wales under company number 15309473. Our principal place of business is The Old Farm Barns, Lowlands Farm, Riversdown Road, West Meon, Hampshire GU32 1JS.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under reference ZC108342.

You can contact us by post at the address above, using the enquiry form on this website, or by telephone on the number published on this website.

    3. How enquiries and work are handled

Fire door inspection, maintenance, repair, replacement and installation work arranged through this website is carried out by an approved local fire door partner covering your area, not by us directly.

When you submit an enquiry through this website, or contact us by telephone, your enquiry and contact details are passed to that partner so they can contact you, survey the property and quote for the work. Where no partner has been appointed for your area, we hold your enquiry and contact you ourselves.

We may receive a fee from the partner in respect of enquiries we pass on, or in respect of work that follows from them.

Any contract for work is between you and the party named in the quotation you receive. We are not party to that contract. We are not responsible for performing it, and we are not able to enforce it on your behalf or mediate between you and the partner.

We select our partners and check the certifications and insurance they hold. That is not a guarantee of the work they carry out, and you should satisfy yourself that any quotation and any contractor is suitable before you proceed.

If work arranged through this website has not gone as it should, please tell us through our feedback and complaints page. We will look into it with the partner concerned.

    4. Information published on this website

The information on this website is general guidance about fire doors and fire safety duties in Scotland.

It is not a substitute for a fire risk assessment, for professional advice on your particular building, or for the requirements of your local authority verifier or the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

We take care to keep the information accurate and current. Regulations, technical handbooks and guidance change, and we do not warrant that everything published here is complete, accurate or up to date at the time you read it. You should not rely on this website alone when making decisions about compliance.

    5. Quotations and pricing

Any figures discussed before a survey are indicative only. Firm pricing follows a survey of the property, and is provided by the partner who will carry out the work.

    6. Using this website

You may view, print and download pages from this website for your own business use.

We and our licensors own the copyright and other intellectual property rights in this website and its content. Our business name and logo are our trade marks. Other trade marks appearing on this website belong to their respective owners.

These terms are between you and us, and are not intended to be enforceable by anyone else.

    13. Law
